Wine day in Veneto
Two wineries, a sommelier-led tasting and lunch in the hills.
In Italy, wine is much more than a drink. It is part of the culture, the history and the art of enjoying the moment.
Join me on a wine journey through Veneto, one of Italy’s most fascinating wine regions. Vineyards, historic cellars, family estates and people who put their heart and soul into their wines are waiting for you. We’ll learn not just to taste wine but to understand its character, aroma and flavour.
Where we’ll go
- Vicenza and the Berici Hills. Green hills, old villas, small wineries and the native Tai Rosso, far from the tourist routes.
- Padua and the Euganean Hills. Volcanic soils and a special microclimate, Serprino and the fragrant sweet Fior d’Arancio DOCG made from Moscato Giallo.
- Verona and Valpolicella. The home of Amarone, Recioto and Ripasso. We’ll uncover the secret of appassimento and find out why Amarone is Verona’s true pride.
- Treviso and the Prosecco hills. How Prosecco DOC differs from Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, what Cartizze is and which dishes to drink Prosecco with.
How the day goes
- Getting to know the winery and the history of the estate.
- A walk through the vineyards, if the season allows.
- A professional tasting led by a certified sommelier.
- A conversation about grape varieties, aromas, flavours and food pairings.
- Lunch or a tasting of local produce, if you wish.
This isn’t a lecture on winemaking or just a trip to a tasting. It’s a lively and delicious journey that I put together around your tastes, interests and wishes.
I’ll show you a Veneto you’ll want not only to see but to taste!
