A little bit of Venice, a little bit of Paris, lots of Italian charm and countless reasons to fall in love! If you want to see a different Italy, elegant, romantic, delicious and free of endless queues, come and discover Treviso with me.

It is often called little Venice: canals, small bridges, old houses and water reflecting colourful facades. But Treviso is much more than a copy. Tiramisu was born here, the world of Prosecco begins here, and the locals know the real secret of the dolce vita.

What we’ll see

  • Piazza dei Signori. The heart of the city, the place to meet up over an aperitivo. Palazzo dei Trecento remembers the city councils and the turbulent times when Treviso was an important city of the Venetian Republic.
  • Canale dei Buranelli. The most romantic corner of the city: facades reflected in the water, little bridges and flowers on the windowsills. We’ll talk about water mills, crafts and how water has shaped life in Treviso for centuries.
  • Isola della Pescheria. A real island in the middle of the canals, with a historic fish market. This is where we talk about local cuisine and radicchio rosso di Treviso, the red symbol of the city.
  • Painted facades. Medieval and Renaissance frescoes turn a stroll into a hunt for artistic treasures.
  • Fontana delle Tette. A fountain with a cheeky name that once flowed with wine on feast days: white from one side, red from the other. We’ll find out what is true and what is urban legend.
  • The birthplace of tiramisu. The story of the dessert, Le Beccherie restaurant and a culinary rivalry that still hasn’t died down.

Treviso doesn’t try to impress you with its size. It wins you over with details. If you wish, the tour can be combined with a Prosecco tasting, a food walk or a trip to the Conegliano Valdobbiadene vineyards.

Come for the beauty, stay for the atmosphere, and come back for the tiramisu and a glass of Prosecco!
